인간의 역사 속에서 한 백성이 하나님께 의존하자는 결의를 선언하고 하나님의 말씀에 헌신, 순종할것을 공포하고 우리의 왕이시요 구원자이신 예수그리스도의 대사들로서 부름 받음을 재확인하는 것이 필요하게 될 때 그 백성들이 하나님의 부르심에 합당한 목적을 만민 앞에서 선포 하는 것이 그 백성들의 하나님께 대한 정당한 응답이다.

그러므로, 우리는 천국의 백성으로서, 완전하고 영원한 하나님 나라의 상속자로서, 오직 예수그리스도안에서 믿음으로 된 하나님의 자녀로서, 머리되신 그리스도의 몸된 교회의 구성원으로서, 그리고 미국의 크리스쳔 시민으로서 엄숙하게 다음과 같이 발표하며 선언한다.

우리는 영원무궁하시고 그의 사랑과 거룩함에 영원토록 완전하시고, 홀로 이 나라 뿐만아니라 보이는 것과 보이지 않은 모든것을 창조하신 하나님, 미국을 살리시며 주권적으로 통치하시는 하나님, 즉 오직 참되시고 살아계신 하나님, 전능하신 하나님, 주권자 왕이신 하나님께 전적으로 의존함을 선포한다.

우리는 오직 진리이시며 살아계신 하나님의 독생자이시며, 이 나라의 심판자시고 참되시고 영원히 존재하는 하나님이시며 전지 전능하신 하나님과 동등하신 실체이시며, 믿음으로 구원에 이르는 오직 한 길이며 우리와 함께 하나님의 영광과 하나님의 나라와 하나님의 모든것을 상속받은 주 예수 그리스도께 의존함을 선포한다. 우리는 진리의 영이시며 하나님과 예수 그리스도와 동등하시며 이 나라의 역사뿐만 아니라 역사의 과정에서 시시때때로 그리스도의 주권적인 인도하심에 따라 하나님 백성의 기도에 응답하시고 동시에 하나님 백성의 무리 위에 임하셔서 개인의 부흥과 계시와 성결함을 넘치도록 부어주시는 사역을 하나님과 그 아들로부터 영원토록 진행하시는 성령님께 의존함을 선포한다.

우리는 성경이 성령님의 감동으로 쓰여진 구약과 신약의 정확무오한 하나님의 말씀이며 신앙과 삶과 생각과 행위에 관한 모든 일에 최상의 권위가 있으며 그리고 하나님의 백상들이 스스로 겸비하고 기도하며 하나님의 얼굴을 구하고 그들의 악하고 죄된 길에서 돌이키면 하나님께서 하늘에서 들으시고 그 죄를 용서하시고 그 땅을 회복시키시고 고치실 것을 약속하는 거룩한 말씀에 의존함을 선포한다.

​

따라서 하나님께서 미국을 창조하셨고 하나님이 미국을 보호인도하시며 주권적으로 통치하시며 우리로 하여금 이 땅 안에 살도록 그의 백성으로 선택하셨고 우리 주 예수 그리스도와 함께 이 나라 뿐만아니라 하나님의 모든것의 공동상속자로서 이 나라의 영화와 회복과 번영을 구하도록 하나님의 말씀에 부르심을 받은 우리는 미국을 위한 우리의 사랑을 선포한다. 우리는 하나님을 믿는 사람이든 믿지 않는 사람이든 우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 그 말과 행위와 섬기며 구제하는 일에 있어서 네 이웃을 사랑하라는 명령에 순종함으로 미국의 백성을 위한 우리의 사랑을 선포한다.

그러므로 미국과  그 백성을 사랑하는 심장으로 감동을 받은 우리는 개인주의, 세속주의, 상대주의가 모든 문제의 해결책이라고 선포하는 이 시대에 삼위일체 하나님과 예수 그리스도의 복음이 이 나라의 유일한 소망이며 모든 문제의 해결이고 무너진 가정의 유일한 치유자이고 상처입은 영혼들의 유일한 구원이고 성난 마음의 유일한 조정자이며 신음하는 자의 영원한 안식처이며 모든 결정과 명령의 유일한 길잡이이며 인종차별, 성차별, 계급과 세대간의 갈등에 유일한 해결책이고 인격과 문화가 평가되는 유일한 표준이고 부정과 남용의 유일한 해결이고 고통받는 자의 유일한 회복자이시며 우리의 모든 지식과 지혜와 가르침의 유일한 기초이시며 모든 선포된 진리가 테스트받는 유일한 권위이며 모두가 서야하는 유일한 반석임을 선포한다.

그리고 이 선언문을 지지하고 그 목적과 의도의 표현을 지지하기 위해서, 하나님을 믿는다고 고백하는 많은 이들이 이기적인 유익, 안전, 편리함으로 형성된 삶을 살아가며, 상업주의가 지역교회에 대한 헌신을 대체해 버리고, 부당한 부와 건강이 하나님의 값진 은혜와 동일시되고 있으며, 험담돠 분열, 편협이 만연하고 있으며, 개인적인 욕망이 기도 제목들이 되고 있는 이 시대에, 그리고 하나님의 말씀이 많은 사람들의 인기를 위해서, 모독을 할까하는 두려움, 세속적인 관련성을 위해서 강단에서 변질되었으며, 교리적인 율법주의가 겸손을 과장되게 선전하고 있으며 감정주의와 문화의 관용이 성경의 진리를 왜곡하고 있는 이 시대에, 우리는 거룩한 성경의 약속을 굳건히 의지하고 악하고 죄된 길 (이 악한일에 동참하던 동참하지 않든)에서 회개를 선포할 뿐만 아니라, 더 나아가서 우리는 이나라의 치유와 부흥을 보고싶은 우리의 열망, 하나님의 백성위에 성령님의 엄청난 부으심과 세례(침례), 이 세대 내에 전례없이 체험하게 될 하나님의 크고 높으신 임재와 위엄과 영광과 능력을 선포한다.

 

끝으로 하나님의 영광을 위해서 우리는 세상의 심판자이신 하나님께 우리의 의도가 정직함을 호소하고, 서로에게 우리의 삶과 우리의 열정적인 기도와 우리의 성스러운 명예에 헌신할 것을 우리는 하나님께 호소한다.

WHEN in the course of human events it becomes necessary for a people to declare their dependence upon God, to proclaim their allegiance to His Word, and to reaffirm their calling as ambassadors of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, an appropriate response to God requires that they should declare before humankind the causes which bind them to this station.

 

THEREFORE, we, as the citizens of heaven, inheritors of the incorruptible and unending Kingdom of God, children of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, members of the Church, both visible and invisible, under Christ the Head thereof, and Christian citizens of these United States of America, hereby solemnly publish and declare the following:

We declare our dependency on the one true and living God, the Father Almighty, the Sovereign King, who is immortal and eternal, infinitely perfect both in His love and in His holiness, who alone is the Creator of all things, visible and invisible, including this nation, and who sustains and sovereignly rules over the United States of America;

​

We declare our dependency on the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the one true and living God, the Judge of this nation, who being very and eternal God, of one substance and equal with the Father Almighty, the one and only way to salvation through faith, and together with whom we are heirs of God’s glory and Kingdom and all that is His;

​

We declare our dependency on the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, divinely equal to God and Jesus Christ, eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son, that has, from time to time in the course of history, including this nation’s, and as sovereignly directed by Christ, in response to the prayers of God’s people, descended upon a group of God’s people at the same time, an outpouring over and above its work of personal regeneration, illumination, and sanctification;

We declare our dependency on the Holy Scriptures, the infallible Word of God written in the Old and New Testaments, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and has supreme authority in all matters of faith, life, thought, and conduct, and which promises that if God’s people humble themselves and pray and seek God’s face and turn from their wicked and sinful ways, then God will hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and will restore and heal their land;

ACCORDINGLY, we declare our love for the United States of America, as this nation was formed and created by God, is sustained and sovereignly ruled by Him, and thusly, we, God’s people chosen by Him to live therein, but not of it, are co-heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ of all that is God’s, including this nation, and are called by the Word of God to seek its peace, restoration, and prosperity;

​

We declare our love for the people of the United States of America, those within and without the household of God, as we are commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ to love our neighbors as ourselves, in word and deed, and to help those in want;

THEREFORE, motivated and compelled by our love for the United States of America and its people, in an age where individualism, secularism, and relativism are heralded as a panacea, we declare that the Triune God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ are the only hope for this nation, the only answer to its ills, the only repairer of broken families, the only salve of wounded souls, the only pacifier of angry hearts, the only lasting comfort to the mourning, the only guide by which decisions and decrees are to be determined, the only solution for racism, sexism, and class and generational conflict, the only standard by which character and culture are to be examined, the only solution for injustice and abuse, the only restorer of the afflicted, the only foundation for all knowledge, wisdom and teaching, the only authority by which all proclaimed truths are to be tested, and the only rock on which all should stand;

​

AND for the support of this Declaration and the manifestation of its intents, in a time where many who profess belief in God have lifestyles shaped by selfish gain, security, and convenience, where consumerism has replaced commitment to the local church, where unmerited health and wealth are equated with God’s merited favor, where gossip, factionalism, and insularity are prevalent, where prayers resemble lists of personal wants, where the Word of God has been diluted on the pulpit for the sake of wider appeal, fear of offense, and worldly relevance, where doctrinal legalism has trumped humility and where emotionalism and cultural tolerance has trumped Biblical truths, we declare, with firm reliance on the promises of the holy Scriptures, repentance for these wicked and sinful ways, of which we may or may not be complicit, and further declare our desire to see healing and revival in this nation, an extraordinary outpouring and baptism of the Holy Spirit on God’s people therein, creating a heightened sense of the presence, majesty, glory, and power of God never heretofore experienced in this generation.

​

And to this end, for the glory of God, we appeal to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, and mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fervent prayers, and our sacred honor.
