​故 김춘근 장로님은 미국의 영적 각성을 위한 예수 운동(JAMA, Jesus Awakening Movement for America/All Nations)과 글로벌 리더십 개발원(GLDI, Global Leadership Development Institute)의 창립자이자 비전가였습니다.

그는 캘리포니아 주립대학교 몬터레이 베이 캠퍼스에서 국제경영학 명예교수로 재직하였습니다. 알래스카 대학교 앵커리지 캠퍼스에서는 석좌교수로 활동하며, 해당 대학 시스템에서 수여하는 최고 영예인 에디스 R. 불록 우수상(Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence)을 수상하였습니다.​

40년에 걸친 그의 탁월한 학문적 경력 동안, 김 장로님은 페퍼다인 대학교를 포함한 여러 교육기관에서 강의하였고, 알래스카 주지사들의 특별 경제개발 보좌관으로도 일하였습니다. 강단을 넘어, 그는 미국과 전 세계 수십만 명의 청년들에게 영감을 주는 열정적인 강사였으며, 미국의 영적 각성과 치유를 위한 기도, 그리고 그리스도를 중심으로 한 새로운 세대의 리더 양성을 사명으로 삼았습니다.​

김 장로님은 2024년 3월 10일, 주님의 부르심을 받으셨습니다. 그는 사랑하는 아내 사라 여사와 두 자녀 샤론(남편 에드워드)과 폴(아내 제니), 그리고 다섯 명의 소중한 손주들인 마크, 그레이스, 노엘, 루시, 존을 남기셨습니다.

그의 믿음, 리더십, 사랑의 유산은 수많은 사람들의 삶에 계속해서 영향을 미치고 있습니다.​

Dr. John C. Kim was the visionary founder of the Jesus Awakening Movement for America (JAMA) and the Global Leadership Development Institute (GLDI). He served as Professor Emeritus of International Business and Management at California State University, Monterey Bay, and previously as a Distinguished Professor at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, where he received the university’s highest honor—the Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence.

Over his distinguished academic career spanning four decades, Dr. Kim taught at numerous institutions, including Pepperdine University, and served as a Special Assistant to the governors of Alaska. Beyond the classroom, he was a passionate speaker who inspired hundreds of thousands of young people in the U.S. and around the world. His life’s mission was to call Christians to pray for spiritual awakening and healing in America and to raise up a new generation of Christ-centered leaders.

Dr. Kim was called home to the Lord on March 10, 2024. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sarah, the love of his life, their two children, Sharon (married to Edward) and Paul (married to Jenny), and their five cherished grandchildren: Mark, Grace, Noelle, Lucy, and John. His legacy of faith, leadership, and love continues to impact countless lives.
